Apple Pie Danish
by JosephineFlaky pastry filled with a buttery cinnamon apple jam and baked until golden and caramelized at the edges. An easy homemade danish recipe using.
1. To start, I brought my cream cheese to room temperature by leaving it out for a few hours and Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F (225 C).
2. Dice 2 apples and added it to a small pot with butter, cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, and brown sugar.
3. Put this over medium heat and let this simmer for about 5-6 minutes until the apples were soft. Take this off the heat and let it cool to room temperature.
4. In the meantime, Make the cheesecake filling by mixing together the cream cheese, egg yolk, and brown sugar in a small bowl.
5. Then Take my pre-made pastry dough out of the fridge and rolled it out. Use the Jus Rol pre-rolled dough here.
6. After rolling it out, Cut the pastry sheet into 6 even (ish) pieces.
7. Then Fold over the sides of each dough to create an outer border for the filling. I scored the border with a fork and scooped in 3 ounces of the cheesecake filling.
8. Use a spoon to evenly spread out the cream cheese filling, then added 3 ounces of the apple pie filling on top.
9. Then Whisk together a quick egg wash made of 1 egg yolk and 1 tablespoon of oat milk and brushed it on the outer border of the pastry that I previously scored.
10. Bake this for 15-20 minutes or until the pastry was golden brown.
