Start these bars by browning the butter. In a small pan, over medium heat, Let the butter melt and simmer, while constantly stirring, until it was an amber brown. In a large bowl, Add in the brown butter along with the brown sugar, vanilla extract, and egg and whisked this together for 2-3 minutes. Once this was well combined, Combine in the dry ingredients until the cookie dough formed.

Line an 8x8 baking pan with parchment paper and pressed the dough evenly into the area of the pan.

Bake this for 14-17 minutes at 350°F (177°C). Once the edges were golden brown, Let them cool for 30 minutes.

While the cookie base was cooling down, Make the frosting by adding in room temperature, softened butter in a stand mixer along with the powdered sugar, vanilla extract, salt and heavy whipping cream.

Let this whip together for 4-5 minutes, until the frosting was fluffy with stiff peaks.

Spread the frosting across the top of the sugar cookie base and topped it off with festive sprinkles.
